Privacy Policy
Mafia.Party is a party game you play in your browser with friends in the same room. It works without accounts, sign-ups or profiles, and it's built to know as little about you as possible. This page explains what little there is.
Effective date: 20 July 2026.
What we handle to run a game
- Your player name and room code. When you join a Room, the name you type and the 4-letter room code are relayed between the players' devices so the game can run. They live in memory only for the length of the game and are not written to a database.
- Game state. Roles, votes and night actions travel between the devices in your Room during play. They're gone when the Room closes.
- Session storage on your device. Your browser keeps a small note of your current Room (code, name) so you can rejoin if your phone locks or the page reloads. It never leaves your device, and your browser clears it when the tab closes.
There are no accounts and no passwords, and we don't ask for your email address to play.
Our infrastructure
Mafia.Party runs on Cloudflare. Like almost every website, the servers that relay game messages see your IP address and standard connection metadata, which Cloudflare processes to serve the site and to protect it from abuse and attacks. We may look at aggregate statistics (such as how many games were played) that don't identify anyone.
Advertising and consent
Mafia.Party is free to play and may show ads on its menu and information screens — never during live play. When advertising is enabled:
- Ads are served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your interests.
- If you're visiting from the EEA, the UK or California, a Google-certified consent message appears before any personalized ads, and you can choose non-personalized ads instead. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link on the page where the message appeared.
- You can read how Google uses information from sites like this one at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies and local storage
The game itself sets no cookies. It uses your browser's session storage only for the rejoin note described above. Advertising partners may set cookies as described in the advertising section, subject to your consent choices where they apply.
General audience
Mafia.Party is a general-audience site for friend groups and game nights. It is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 — the game is designed not to collect personal information from anyone at all beyond what's described above.
Your choices
- Play without typing a real name — any name your friends recognize works.
- Change your ad-consent choices at any time via the consent message's privacy link.
- Clear your browser's site data to remove anything Mafia.Party stored on your device.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. Questions? Write to privacy@playmafia.party.
